One of the many things I love and cherish about living in the mountains is seeing the light casting on the mountains. Twice a day (sunrise and sunset), the sun can hit the mountains just right. However, alpenglows are by no means a guaranteed thing. The sky has to be reasonably clear and the clouds below the sun angle of the rock and snow being illuminated. And of course, you have to be in the right place at the right time.
Here is a collection of my ten best ALPenglow photos I’ve been lucky enough to capture over the past few seasons.

This valley is one of the most dramatic in the entire Alps

I snapped this dreamy shot from far away and way across the valley

Taken from the grounds of an 18th-century castle turned hotel deep in Austria

The Alps basking in the afternoon light over Frazione Rusa

A Two for One ALPenglow special

Awesome pictures my friend. Keep them coming.
Glad to heard from you Agent 34.5. I hope you and Deb are well.
Stunning.
It takes getting out the door a few minutes earlier, but always worth the sunrise moments…and a good spiritual practice to greet the day😊☀️✨
I couldn’t agree more my friend!
